8. after!

This week’s i ♥ handmade will be substituted by a small tutorial i made this morning.
I was inspired this week to revamp my camera strap by Pocket full of pretty’s toy camera strap diy (found via missindie) and because i wanted to do something to it or change it for weeks now because the one i had was, well, average. I didn’t do anything like the camera strap diy because i didn’t have any of the material and the strap i wanted to revamp was for my film SLR and i needed something heavy duty to keep it safely strapped to me. So i came up with a simple diy: cover it with fabric! That easy.

2. material

3. cut fabric
Cut your fabric out so it cover the strap both sides.

4. start pinning
Start pining the fabric to the strap.

Con alfileres, acomoda la tela.

5. fold fabric and finish pinning the fabric.

Once you pin one side, fold the other side and also pin it. This will help you a lot when sewing.

6. start sewing

Pick your thread color and start sewing.
And that’s it!
You can make variations using ribbon on both sides of the strap, changing the extensions with colorful ones with webbing, patchwork fabric or even leather/vinyl.
Have a great wednesday.

7. that's it!

8. after!
