There are some great classic buildings, signs and stores still kept in downtown Tijuana, el Centro we call it. This weekend i developed a bunch of 35mm rolls and i discovered some photos i didn’t remember i had taken, like this one. Don’t you just love it when that happens? I still shoot a lot of film so it happens once in a while when i leave rolls undeveloped and without printing them or scanning.
This was how the Moon looked last night from where I was standing.
We took short drive out of the city, away from all the lights, to break out my friend Paulina’s new telescope. I have one word: wow!. We could only see the moon because we had only one lens with us and we we’re having problems with the alignment but we’re ready to try it out again and see some nebulae and planets if there are any in the sky that night to see. Yesterday we missed venus by half an hour and jupiter was still hours away from showing up in the night’s sky. I’ve never seen a nebula with a telescope, nor venus. I’ve seen saturn and jupiter with a far smaller telescope than Paulina’s so i’m very exited.
Have a great start of the week.
photos by me, taken with cheap film from the drugstore.
note to self: don’t buy any more cheap film unless it’s totally necessary and as a last option.
The little one has been spending a lot of time with me this start of his summer vacations and we’ve been thinking of activities to do everyday to keep busy and active. One of the activities of today was to find in the yard all the letters of the alphabet and take a photo of each one. I told him to find it with what he could find in nature (plants, trees, those things) and he went outside and before i could go out with him, he came back and to my surprise he “found” everything! I saw the photos and what he actually did was grab a few carrots Mika was having for a snack and make the letters. Clever one. I had a laugh and we did the activity again with actual finds without tampering them.
I liked the outcome although the first alphabet he made was really my favorite.
Me dió mucha risa.
