oh land.

I hadn’t been to a concert in a long while… since [i don’t remember when] little dragon, so last month, surfin’ instagram I saw that Oh Land, who’s music i’ve been obsessed with the last few years, was in Portland playing a show, I immediately searched for their tour and to my wonderful surprise they we playing San Diego that same week. I got my ticket that same day.
It was such a great great great show!! Small venue, like 100 people max, great sound, great setlist, I went alone so i couldn’t share it with anyone but i still enjoyed it so much.

I’m preparing dyed backpacks this week and today i’m making color tests and deciding on just 5 or 6 colors for the first pieces for spring. I’m starting this year late with the ziazia production but i’m feeling great about this collection. You can follow me on instagram if you like, i post peeks there often, as well as just day to day photos and art work. Wishing you all a wonderful start of the week.

Miedo al fracaso, Aldo Guerra.

The fear of death and fear of failure are one and the same thing, fear of ceasing to be what we think we are.

Caminar: un elogio.

I finally ordered this book that i’ve wanted for a while from La Cifra Editorial, an independent publishing house from Mexico City. I had been eyeing it because it’s from one of my favorite authors David Le Bretón and it’s about the joy of walking, which i also love. It arrived a couple of days ago and i started reading it today.

What books are you reading lately?

rainy day.

Here are a few links and bits I want to share that i’ve seen around the internetz:

Rachel’s {of elephantine} fiction friday short stories are the bomb. She’s quite the talented writer.

Brian Eno and David Byrne’s Strange Overtones has been playing in my head all week.

Harper Lee’s letter to Oprah on books and reading, “some things should happen on soft pages, not cold metal”.

Paulina Castro’s short video diary Kilómetro 27.

Awesome people reading.

I wish we had awesome libraries in Tijuana, just like these in SF.

This looks yummers: gnocchi with wild mushrooms, oh yeah!.

And just because it’s international women’s day, here’s something for all the ladies in the world.
